Call For Papers: RGS-IBG Annual Conference 2013, London, 28-30 August 2013
New and Emerging Feminist Geographies
Sponsored by the Women and Geography Study Group (WGSG)
The New and Emerging Feminist Geographies sessions are aimed at postgraduates and early career researchers who would like an opportunity to present their research in a supportive and constructive academic environment, and at researchers at all stages in their careers who are interested in presenting papers that discuss emerging theoretical or methodological innovations in the field of feminist geographies.
‘Feminist Geographies’ is intended to cover a broad spectrum of research; consequently papers are welcome from any area of feminist geographical inquiry, with the aim of bringing together new and emerging themes within feminist geography. Papers would also be welcome that explore how new and emerging themes within feminist geography are interconnected with other areas of geographical thought and practice, such as economic, social, historical and cultural geographies, or that engage with the conference theme of geographical frontiers.
Researchers are welcome at any stage in their research process, making the session a great opportunity for newer researchers to get experience presenting their work. The sessions will provide a great space in which to meet and discuss ideas with other feminist geographers and also to get constructive feedback on research in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Both sessions will consist of five 15-minute papers with time for questions.
