Lead Statistician / Statistician

Cambridge-based medical research company seeks medical statisticians to join their rapidly-growing team of researchers. Successful candidates will have the chance to gain a permanent position in a small, thriving research company involved in the analysis and dissemination of data from large-scale, clinical databases.
Qualifications & skills
• A sound statistical background, normally as a post-graduate degree in statistics or a closely related discipline, although applicants with a good first degree in statistics may also be considered.
• Some knowledge of health economics would be advantageous but not essential.
• Sound IT skills and programming experience in SAS and SPSS.
• Excellent statistical modelling skills and the ability to interpret and communicate analysis results.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in the English language.
• The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Job Specification
• Provide statistical input to study proposals, protocols and statistical analysis plans.
• Carry out exploratory data analysis of large datasets.
• Carry out complex statistical analyses of study outcomes and assist in the interpretation of results.
• Contribute to the final statistical analysis report.
• Provide statistical advice and support in the dissemination of final results.
Starting salaries will depend on qualifications and relevant experience:
Lead Statistician - £25,000-£35,000 per annum
Statistician - £16,000-£25,000 per annum.
