Hi All,
I have added a new section to the quarterly reports for the Tier-2s and many other groups that have to report each quarter.
The section is a simple table with the headings that were used in the last e-VAL questionnaire which will have to be completed at the end of the project:
EVAL http://www.stfc.ac.uk/About%20STFC/18664.aspx
The e-VAL process is designed to record the outputs of research funding and to show it's impact on wider areas of UK science and industry.
We have to produce a list for each section to be reported at the end of the project. It will be easier if we can keep track of things as they arise rather than waiting till the end of the project.
Please record things that come up in the areas described below to your quarterly report in the section provided.
Many Thanks Pete
The question areas in the past were as below:
1 Publications
List papers and publications produced by GridPP funded staff.
Period is from 1st jan 2010 onwards:
2 Collaborations:
Eg New VO's or groups within STFC and or UK. This can include organisations such as EGEE, WLCG CERN and other UK projects such as NGS/NES, DIRAC.
3 Further Funding
Extra grants that have helped fund our work, such as
DRI
EGI
4 Destination and Recruitment of staff who leave GridPP.
The idea here is to see the benefit that UK industry (or otherwise) get from GridPP trained staff.
It's all about impact! Also note particular problems recruiting staff.
5 Dissemination (to non-academic audiences)
Eg Masterclasses and other general public talks or presentations.
6 Technology developed
Software most likely in our case. Past examples have been Gridsite, Ganga and the Real Time Monitor.
7
8 Intellectual Property Licensing.
Our software is open source but if any patentable ideas have been developed as a result of the project.
9
10 Development of spin-out companies
Examples in the past have included Immense which started out as the CAMONT VO which developed it's idea on our Grid.
11 Awards and Recognition
Eg Roles held on boards and committees etc. such as WLCG, NGS, EGI committees and boards.
Roles within international collaborations such as Atlas etc.
Roles on Task forces?
12 Other outputs and Knowledge
