I recently had a similar situation with a small subgroup in a brand new open plan office. For this scenario turns out that it wasn't exactly an environmental cause but simply the fact that employees failed to take adequate breaks away from the desk, lack of fresh air, eating at desk etc. Strongly advised manager to discourage this type of behaviour and encourage healthy computing practices. Also did a backcare workshop/mass DSE assessment for the group, issuing footrests, screen raiders, info sheets where needed. Reviewed a month later (yesterday)- all reported less aches and pains and improved general well-being. I appreciate this may be more difficult to do by yourself in a larger office environment. Will health and safety help you? Agree that management issues can greatly contribute to neg working practices and environment so consider tackling from that angle first perhaps. If you dont have the man power consider an OH student? Good luck!
