We are now using barcodes on boxes/crates and on storage locations (shelves) for movement control. The Natonal Galleries of Scotland are also using them on boxes.

Subject: use of barcodes/ RFID tags for location control etc?
Dear All
I am currently working with a small museum who are keen to explore the possibility of using a machine readable system to assist with location control (and possibly wider management) of their collections.
I am familiar with Julian Tomlin's 2008 review of this area but I wondered if anyone could suggest any museums with current work in this area that it would make sense for this museum to consult with?
Thank you
Emma
