The IFLA Serials and Other Continuing Resources Section (SOCR) Section encourages nominations to its Standing Committee (SC) for the term August 2013 - August 2017.
If you are interested in serving the International Serials community, please consider submitting your name in nomination for the IFLA Serials and Other Continuing Resources Section (SOCR) Standing Committee.
The committee meets annually at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress and we organise and sponsor an open session at each congress. Our section aims to work with partners from across the Serials Information Chain and concerns itself with all issues which make serials publications unique.
We would welcome nominations from individuals with expertise and interest in any aspect of Serials and continuing resources, irrespective of whether individuals are librarians, publishers, subscriptions agents, aggregators or work in other serials related fields.
Serving on a Standing Committee also provides opportunities for professional development, networking with colleagues from many different countries and helping to advance the profession in specific areas of practice. It also provides the opportunity to shape and influence the SOCR open programme for the annual WLIC IFLA conference, through participation in selecting the topic, reviewing papers and identifying the best submissions.
