You need to create the drectory for the mountpoint first.
Look into /etc/fstab, as well.

The last one:
rosi@rosi-HP-Pavilion-dv9700-Notebook-PC:~$ sudo mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /media/external -o uid=1000,gid=1000,utf8,dmask=027,fmask=137
[sudo] password for rosi:
mount: mount point /media/external does not exist

I am sorry, but it is difficult for me to understand how to manage....I am going to see if there is something in the Linux manual to cope with this.
Many thanks for your helping.
Rosalia.

Hi,
I don't really know if this would do the trick, but I found it on google
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1824992
Looks like you need to mount the external HD
Cheers,
Jeanette

Dear Fsl experts,
My Pc has little disk space and I am trying to work from an extern hard memory disk. Unfortunately, Ubunty does not recognized my extern hard disk as a path and, therefore, I can not work with it like a directory. I suppose I have to configure the new path into the bash script but I can not image how to do it.
Any of you could help me with this? I would need all the steps because I do not know how to do it.
Thank you in advance for all your helping.
Yours sincerely,
Rosalia.
