** Emotion, Space and Society - Call for Successor Journal Editors **
Emotion, Space and Society is an international, inter-disciplinary
journal published four times a year by Elsevier. Following the first
five successful years – the journal currently receives approximately 100
new manuscripts per annum - founding Editors Liz Bondi, Joyce Davidson
and Mick Smith are seeking successors to take the journal forward into
the next phase of its development. The timing is negotiable, but the
expectation is that the new Editors will overlap with the existing
Editors for several months, beginning in the summer of 2013, and
assuming full responsibility as a new team by January of the following year.
Applications are sought from individuals or potential successor teams.
Candidates must be well established within the broad field of research
covered by the journal and have demonstrable commitment to an
interdisciplinary approach to studies of emotion and affect across the
humanities and social sciences. Individually or collectively, candidates
must have prior editorial experience and excellent editing skills.
Editors receive a small annual editorial fee but also need the support
of their academic institutions to devote sufficient time and energy to
ensure the continuing success of the journal.
Applications should include a CV and a letter setting out the
applicant’s (or applicants’) reasons for applying, vision for the
journal and previous editorial experience.
The closing date for applications is 8 March 2013.
Informal enquiries are welcomed by the current Editors:
