Dear all,
John Campbell, The Royal Bank of Scotland’s 18th century chief cashier is back on Twitter today. The new feed tweets real time entries from Campbell’s personal account book of 1772 to provide public access to an interesting, but little-used, source that sheds light on the life of a well-to-do family in 1770s Edinburgh – a city being transformed by the Scottish Enlightenment. The volume is one of ten account books belonging to John Campbell held in the RBS Group Archives.
Please do take a look at the feed and pass on the details to any researchers or contacts who may be interested. The feed can be found at http://twitter.com/JohnoftheBank and you can also access supporting contextual information on our website from there.
Thanks very much,
Laura Yeoman
