MR Analyst/Programmer Job at the Palo Alto VAHCS
We anticipate recruiting for a talented imager to assume an integral role in methods development and image analysis in some multi-site functional/structural/ASL/DTI MRI studies in patients with depression undergoing repetitive pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and also in patients at risk for stroke. Other sites collaborating include San Francisco VA/UCSF, Philadelphia VA/U.Penn, Charleston VA/Medical University of South Carolina, Pittsburgh VA, and Texas Methodist Hospital. Each of these sites has substantial neuroimaging expertise and MRI’s are all 3 Tesla. Previous experience in image processing or neuroimaging analysis (SPM, AFNI, FSL) and statistics are highly desirable but not required. Since it is expected that it will be necessary to customize use of these programs for the required analyses, previous programming experience (particularly C++, shell scripting, matlab, python) is highly desirable. This study will also provide experience in managing and evaluating image quality from data from multi-site fMRI and data transfer. Interest in cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, and methods development is important. Optimal training will include an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering with signal processing, or cognitive science with substantial programming experience and familiarity with LINUX. Substantial experience with MR imaging analysis tackling similar problems would substitute. If interested, please contact me at ([log in to unmask]).
