Suffolk Record Office (SRO) wishes to appoint a suitably experienced and skilled consultancy between January and May 2013 to undertake a body of work that will contribute to the creation of a compelling business case for its next generation digital platform and on-line services.
The invitation to tender describes the kind of consultants that are likely to fulfil the brief and how they might apply to be considered for the work. Full details of the brief itself, together with initial background information, are in a separate document that accompanies the invitation to tender.
The main aim of the overall work is to provide an informed business case and 5 year plan for digitisation work related to a new digital strategy that can be approved by the Suffolk County Council’s (SCC) cabinet and used by SRO. SCC expects its own officers to do much of this work, but requires a consultancy to:
• Act as an experienced critical friend to the shaping and writing of the business case for a new digital platform and services
• Research SRO and other heritage digital services and provide appendices that both provide a context for SRO’s future digital platform and services and inform its options appraisal
Fuller details of what this means in practice are available within the main brief document which also includes an outline timetable, budget and action list together with some initial context and history to the work.
If anyone would like a copy of the tender document and accompanying brief please email me at [log in to unmask]
If you would like to discuss the details further, or receive the county council’s heritage services digital strategy document which gives further context for this work, please contact Lyn Gash, the Museum Development Manager. She is away from her email and desk between 22 and 27 December 2012.
Best wishes
Judith
