The Friends of the Pavilion have been our landlords for a year or so.
They originally set themselves up to take a 3 year lease (at a pound a year)
in order to raise the approx. £2.7 million that is needed. However, they
have found that the HLF was unwilling to fund a project where the Friends
only had a short-term lease, so this week DDDC have sold the building to the
Friends for the aforesaid £1. I was under the impression (but it isn't
confirmed elsewhere) that there would be a reversion clause if the Friends
were unable to make a go of the project.
The website of the Friends is at www.savethepavilion.co.uk
Cheers, Dave Williams
