Dear all
Attached is a report on support workers in maternity care commissioned by the Department of Health. It highlights the large variation in grade, scope, pay, training of the support workforce.
The second report was commissioned by the Kings fund and looks at the evidence base on maternity workforce staffing, skillmix and quality and safety of care. Again, highlights the potential of the support workforce, but also large variations in competencies and training.

There are many different job names and no common requirements to do the job. Jane Sandall, who runs this list can provide you with a reference to her report on the subject.
