Continuing (i.e. permanent) position
The Department of Geography at the University of Canterbury is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Human Geography with interests in any aspect of the discipline, but expertise in one or more of the following areas would be desirable: economic geography, social geography, cities, community economies, community engagement, disaster recovery and resilience. The successful candidate will establish and conduct a programme of high quality research, supervision and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Applicants will have a PhD in human geography. Evidence of excellence in supervision and teaching, and high research productivity, or clear potential for, is essential. We are seeking a candidate who has the ability to complement and enhance our existing set of interests, and who will be an enthusiastic participant in our team-oriented Department.
Our Department has research and teaching interests across the broad spectrum of geography and its methodologies, and a growing proportion of its income is derived from externally funded research.
