These are quite a while ago & hopefully things are much better now...
I have witnessed a doctor who presented a blood gas sample to the
analyser, the sample was clotted so was not aspirated. The analyser then
did a 1 point calibration which printed out. The Dr tore off the
printout & was walking away with their "patient results" when I stopped
them.
Also I have been told "oh - I don't run the QC because if it's out of
range I can't use the machine".......
