Enter the MJA Winter Awards! Closing date 23 November2012
This year the MJA will offer seven awards.
• Scoop/investigative health/medical reporting
• Medical science explained
• Handling a medical/health theme in broadcast drama
• Broadcast documentary on health/medicine
• Witty piece about health/medicine
• Interview with a health/medical figure
• The MJA will also be offering the Tony Thistlethwaite Award for a
health book by an MJA member aimed at the general reader

• All submitted material must have been published or broadcast
between November 23,
2011 and November 22, 2012. It must not have been submitted in
previous MJA awards,
nor can it be submitted for more than one category. Books entered for
the Tony
Thistlethwaite award must have been published since March 2011.
• The shortlist will be posted on the MJA website by the end of
December 2012. The winners
will be announced at the award ceremony in London at the end of
January 2013.
• Individual winners will receive a cheque for £500 plus an
inscribed certificate; the winners
of the two broadcasting awards will receive inscribed trophies.
Commended entries will
receive certificates.
