<p>37 hours per week, Fixed Term until 1st October 2013</p>
<p>Starting Salary £19,629 per annum</p>
<p>Location: Inverness (Ref: 035-346)</p>
<p>The post resides in the Geographic Information Group, the section of Scottish Natural Heritage’s Information Systems & Services responsible for the delivery of GIS and spatial data to users throughout the organisation. The post holder will be required to support the development of GIS applications (particularly inter/intranet based applications) and the integration of these applications with core business systems. Candidates should have skills for developing GIS solutions that incorporate both the front end web interface and back end server side components.</p>
<p>You must have experience of GIS application development and customisation with practical experience of using web technologies with spatial data. A sound awareness of issues relating to spatial data management with knowledge of current metadata standards and interoperability issues are a must. You must also have good communication skills as this post will be required to collaborate with customers, and explain technical issues to non-technical staff. Finally, you must be well organised with good planning and workload prioritisation skills and the ability to work to deadlines with minimal supervision.</p>
