Dear All,
Civil Engineering is the ICE's flagship journal. It is planning a special issue for on Visualisation Innovations. The deadline for abstracts is 1 December 2012. The deadline for submissions is 1 March 2013.
This special issue aims to encapsulate the diversity of visualisation innovations in civil engineering, through papers presenting novel applications and case studies. Papers are also invited that document academic developments and the advancement of modelling approaches that underpin visualisation tools. The special issue papers will be supported by an electronic repository for high resolution images and animations.
Topics to be covered could include the following:
- The built environment: urban planning, transit systems, pedestrian and cycle facilities, highways and traffic management.
- Pedestrian simulation: crowd behaviour at major venues and events.
- 3D modelling of complex structures: dynamic structures, geotechnics, coastal erosion, offshore structures.
- BIM (building information modelling): generating and managing infrastructure project information, embracing technology developments, greater sharing of information across the building professions.
- Industry and utilities: pipelines, electricity distribution, telecommunications.
- Crash or collapse simulations: disaster planning, seismic responses, crash barrier and cushion simulations.
- CFD simulations: heat generation, smoke dispersal in tunnels, hydraulic engineering.
- Visioning for uncertain futures. Visioning can aid policy makers speculate long-term future scenarios.
If you would like further details then get in touch.
Best rgds,
James.
