Faculty of Science
The Open University
Temporary contract for 48 months; Based in Milton Keynes
GBP 330,122 - GBP 44,166
We invite applicants showing outstanding promise and potential for research
leadership to apply for an independent research fellowship hosted by the
Planetary and Space Sciences Discipline in the Open University's flagship
Centre for Earth, Planetary, Space & Astronomical Research (CEPSAR). The
post is one of six Research Investment Fellowships aimed at enhancing
expertise in research areas of strategic priority for the Faculty of Science.
We seek to make this appointment in an area that complements and adds
value to our existing research strengths, especially in laboratory-based
isotope geochemistry or cosmochemistry. We invite applications in any of these
or closely related areas, but exceptional candidates with other research
interests that would complement group interests are encouraged to apply. The
main duties of the post are research-oriented, but it is also hoped that the
candidate will be able to consult on strategic areas of teaching need
within the Planetary and Space Sciences Discipline.
You should have an excellent track record of independent research as shown
by a strong publication record, ideally supplemented with other research
esteem indicators. As part of the application you will be asked to provide a
detailed research plan.
Closing date: 30 November 2012. Interview date is to be advised.
