The BBaRTS: Bedtime Brush and Read Together to Sleep programme is a school-to-home behavioural intervention aimed at changing key oral health-related behaviours in children residing in deprived communities. This is being developed by a team of experienced researchers from several universities, led by the Principal Investigator based at Queen Mary University of London. The post-holder will be responsible for assisting the Principal Investigator in the development of a series of linked story books for children aged 5-8 years olds to read together with their parents and family and aimed at enhancing parental self-efficacy to engage in preventive behaviours. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative researcher with experience of creative writing or producing literature for children; and, who may have a varied academic background that would be of direct relevance to the project, e.g. in creative writing or visual media, in a health discipline, as a writer, teacher, in child psychology, in child development, in health-related behaviour change.
The successful candidate will work with an experienced team including experts in Health Psychology, Health Economics, Community Dentistry and Public Health alongside commercial partners, schools, and parents.
This is a full time fixed-term appointment for 1 year. Starting salary will be in the range £33,944 - £39,936 per annum inclusive of London allowance dependent on experience. The benefits package includes 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
