We fund projects that allow people to consider, question and debate the key issues in science and society, through our wide-ranging Engaging Science grants programme. This supports projects that encourage people of all ages and from all walks of life to be informed, inspired and involved.
We are looking for a Public Engagement Adviser to join our public engagement grants team. You will assess the impact of our public engagement grant schemes, ensure that the best people are encouraged to apply for public engagement grants, and manage a portfolio of grants and grantholders through regular reporting and support.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced science communication and public engagement specialist. You will have:
• a degree in a biomedical science discipline and relevant postgraduate qualification
• experience of working in the field of public engagement or science communication and experience in the field of international engagement/development
• proven knowledge of research areas and activities within the Trust’s remit, including relevant audiences and grant-giving/funding processes
• excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven customer focus
• good networking and negotiating skills
• proven organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
• a flexible approach to work, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
Salary from £30,000 - depending on experience.
