Thanks for the note. Probably so. But we tend to need a reference quote to a well known source. So I sort of mickeying to Merriam Webster to do the job to prove my point that the term 'lurker' isn't pretty nice term to use. In any case, Jared did mention that the term lurker doesn't contribute to progressive research endeavours, which is true. But it does offend people in a way.
Referencing is a must. But must we always quote something or someone big to get the point through? Why can't we prove points our way (language, visual etc expressions) on our own stature to get points through?
Fostering research communities has to be inclusive to grow. Even if it means catching flying tomatoes through different windows.
