Dear All
I am not sure if it has already been mentioned but the Guardian has
had some features relevant to this discussion during the past week:
see - http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/video/2012/nov/20/art-digital-age-internet-week-video
(featuring Shane from onedotzero talking about differences between on
and offline platforms etc).
Today's Guardian also features an interview with Gustav Metzger
relating to an exhibition opening this Thursday night in London:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2012/nov/26/gustav-metzger-null-object-robot
which reminded me of some of the excellent points Mark and Marc have
been making about remix culture, anartists, artists, authorship et al.
.The invite to this exhibition by London Fieldworks cites Hari Kunzru
who says:
"Null Object mocks the persistent narcissism of the artist, who
believes secretly that he is a little god. It is a release into a more
profound and complex reality. A great liberation."
Kunzru expands further on this in an essay in the accompanying catalogue.
all best
