Hello, colleagues here have raised a few issues with searching MyiLibrary and I wanted to know if anyone else was having similar problems and what advice are you giving to students on how to search ebooks within MyiLibrary.
In general we have noticed that the searching has degraded with the new interface and general advice such as when looking for a book enter the author title information isn't always bringing up the results we expect, for example when searching for the following book in MyiLibrary, THE HISTORY OF ENGLISH by Ishtla Singh - if we use 'History of English Sing' we get 0 results, if we use History of English then this book appears on page 4 of the results.
We also have examples of irrelevant material being presented when using the advanced search, including results for single words even though a phrase search was entered. Search terms not being highlighted in the text as previously.
We have reported these to our supplier and have been advised that improvements to their search facility are on their development plan, but I was interested to know whether this is an issue for anyone else.
Would be grateful for any feeback, comments etc
Kind regards
