HGRG Call for session proposals for the RGS-IBG Conference (2013)
The Historical Geography Research Group invites proposals for sessions for research group sponsorship for the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Annual International Conference, 28-30th August 2013. We especially welcome session proposals from post-graduate and early career historical geographers.
The conference theme is New Geographical Frontiers, it is chaired by Professor Jonathan Rigg (Durham University) and will be held in London this year.
Further information on the conference and session formats can be found here: http://www.rgs.org/WhatsOn/ConferencesAndSeminars/Annual+International+Conference/Annual+international+conference.htm
If you wish to propose a session please send the following information to Harriet Hawkins ([log in to unmask]), by Friday 14th December:
1) Session title
2) 300 word abstract detailing the session theme
3) Proposed number of session slots (n.b. timeslots are 1h 40 mins long, no session may occupy more than two of these)
4) Short statement of how the session links to the conference theme if appropriate
5) A note of any other research groups applied to for sponsorship if appropriate
Please note: at this stage we do not require details of authors and individual papers only session descriptions.
The committee will rank the session proposals and organisers will be informed of the decision by the 21st December. Full session details ( including individual paper details) are due on the 13th February.
