This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to work on the PROTECT project. PROTECT is an IMI (Innovative Medicines Initiative) funded project coordinated by the European Medicines Agency with which we have a core role in delivering one of the work packages. The overall theme of our part of the project is the development of methods and recommendations for the analysis and representation of benefit and risk of medicines. http://www.imi-protect.eu/ As the portfolio of trials within ICTU increases and the PROTECT project reaches a key point in its evolution we are seeking a statistician who will be able to work in a mixed trial and epidemiological environment.
The post holder will be required to help analyse develop and communicate results from the PROTECT project and to provide statistical support and assistance in all aspects of the design, implementation, running, analysis and dissemination of results for clinical trials and related research studies.
You must hold a PhD or equivalent in statistics or medical statistics and have experience of working with complex data sets. For appointment as a Research Fellow, it is essential that you have experience of working in clinical trials, medical research or epidemiology.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) or part time (minimum 21 hours per week) and fixed-term for one year in the first instance, and is based at the St Mary’s Campus (Paddington).

The Imperial Clinical Trials Unit is a new and exciting development within the Imperial Academic Health Science Centre, which aims to deliver high-quality clinical trials relevant to local and global health by bringing together academic, trial management and clinical expertise. Our focus is currently on a number of therapeutic areas including cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, respiratory disease, emergency medicine and critical care, HIV and infectious diseases. Further key areas continue to be developed including neuroscience, mental health and ageing.
As our portfolio of trials continue to increase we are looking for a Clinical Trial Statistician to join the team to provide statistical support and assistance in all aspects of the design, implementation, running, analysis and dissemination of results from clinical trials and related research studies.
