Dear all,
A vacancy people may be interested in.
Blog & Social Media Editor
Job Description
We are a global charitable foundation dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in health by supporting the brightest minds.
We have recently adopted a new communications strategy that takes a ‘digital first’ approach to reaching our key audiences. Blogs and social media already play an important role in communicating the research we support in biology and medicine, and in connecting the many communities taking part in the conversation. We want to expand our activities in these areas.
We are looking for a Blog and Social Media Editor to join our Communications Team. You will help coordinate, write and commission content for our blogs and social media, communicating the broad nature of the Wellcome Trust’s activities across its existing online channels (including blogs, Twitter and Facebook), while evaluating and exploring new opportunities. You will also play a crucial role in advocating and facilitating wider engagement with blogs and social media around the Trust and its wider communities.
Desired Skills & Experience
This is an exciting opportunity for an active blogger and social media user with a passion for digital communications. You will have:
* A demonstrable knowledge and experience of working with blogs and social media
* An understanding of the science blogging community and related social media streams.
* The ability to understand complex scientific concepts and translate them for the general public.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Outstanding written English
