The young man whose accusations launched the case against Jerry Sandusky
considered suicide as prosecutors took three years to make an arrest and
administrators at his high school questioned his story.
.
Aaron Fisher, 18, told ABC News on Friday that he grew so desperate with
delays in the case and fear that he wouldn't be believed that he began to
doubt whether the abuse he suffered was enough to put the former
Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach behind bars.
.
"The broken promises, the numbers of state troopers, and he's not even in
jail?" Fisher said in an interview that aired on ABC's 20/20. "I thought
maybe it would be easier to take myself out of the equation. Let somebody
else deal with it."
.
His statements Friday came as part of a two-day media blitz, making him
the first of the eight young men who testified against Sandusky in court
to speak publicly under his own name about the abuse.
.
His appearance on ABC and a similar interview published Thursday in People
magazine coincided with the release of his book, Silent No More: Victim
1's Fight for Justice Against Jerry Sandusky, due out Tuesday.

"There were so many emotions and thoughts running through my head," he
told ABC. "Being a kid, you never know what to do, and you don't know who
to tell because you don't know who you can trust."
.
Sandusky, 68, was sentenced last week to a minimum of 30 years in prison
for serially assaulting 10 adolescent boys, all of whom he met through the
Second Mile, a charity he founded for underprivileged youth.
