Hi David
I have always wanted to spend a day with a large group of people 'engineering' an orchestra from junk that can then be used to rehearse and perform something properly musical at the end of the day. My only attempt to do this (on a much smaller scale) with a science showoff piece was somewhat blighted by drunken straw players not listening to the conductor - but I guess you wouldn't have that problem!
It takes much more rehearsal than you think is my conclusion so far but could be immensely rewarding if it worked, and generate great video and sound footage for publicity purposes
Good luck
Wendy

Morning all,
Apologies for lurkage and cross-posting, but I'm now doing some
research for two of the regional Big Bang fairs that I run in the
Midlands. We're looking to expand the fairs and I've been set the
challenge of designing a bigger showpiece for the fairs.
Basically,
I'm looking for ideas for a group activity, something for everyone to
do to create something through the day - or something that in your
experience leaves an impression on visitors, whether it's just
something to look at or an interactive or whatever.
The West Midlands fair is potentially up to 5000 people in a big
space, so let your minds run free!
All the best,
David
