30th Anniversary Conference

As part of the four year AHRC funded project Channel 4 and British Film Culture (www.c4film.co.uk), the University of Portsmouth is hosting this conference which invites media historians and key personnel from the film and television industries to debate and celebrate Channel 4's contribution to British film culture over three decades.

The registration fee covers the two-day conference at BFI Southbank, including programmed screenings at NFT3, buffet lunch, and refreshments on both days. Additionally, a limited number of places are available at a special screening of the landmark Film on Four, My Beautiful Laundrette, at 7pm on Thursday 1 November at the Charlotte Street Hotel. The screening will be introduced by Sir Jeremy Isaacs (Channel 4’s first Chief Executive). Delegates who register before 12 October 2012 and who are not speaking at the conference will be entered for a ticket ballot for this event (to be drawn on 15 October).
