Dear All,
Does anyone have any experience of using an equipment stock control
system in their museum or gallery? Our exhibitions department want to
keep tabs on around 1000 pieces of AV equipment (projectors, cables,
lights, bulbs, etc.) and are looking for a system to manage their
whereabouts. They currently use an excel spreadsheet but we are hoping
for a more dynamic database where equipment can be booked in and out and
we can tell at a glance what the status of it is, i.e. is in in for
repair, on loan, in use, etc. The system would preferably be web based
(and a managed service?) and accessible by a few staff from several
departments. I expect it is the type of system shop keepers use for
stock inventory and would most likely work with a barcode reader.
I do have one or two systems in mind, but I'd be interested to know if
any of you or your suppliers have something similar in use or can
recommend a product. Please email me off list if you prefer and feel
free to contact me directly, details below.
Thanks in advance,
Stuart
