Dear Colleagues,
Birmingham City University Library and Learning Resources is delighted to invite you to a one day conference: “Squaring the Circle: increasing demand, decreasing budget” which will explore managing library provision in times of financial constraint. It will be held on Monday 17th December 2012 at Birmingham City University’s award-winning Seacole Building situated in its Faculty of Health, City South Campus.
The presentations and workshops/seminars will focus around four themes of the conference:
• Involving academics and students in managing resources;
• Understanding students’ expectations;
• Managing and marketing e-books and
• The academic perspective
The speakers are practitioners in the field of academic collection management or actively involved in research or collection evaluation. They will be presenting their experiences on the various projects and collaborative efforts they have been involved in and will also be sharing with you some of their inspiring and innovative ideas.
