Dear Dr.Beckmann and FSL users,
I am trying to reproduce the Figure 6 of the 2005 Royal Society paper by Beckmann and others, and wondering what pairs of the minimum and maximum threshold values were used for activation (Red-Yellow) and deactivation (Blue-Lightblue).
If those pairs were arbitrarily chosen, then what would be the most objective way of determining a pair of min and max values for z transformed IC maps? I think one set of values should be applied to the entire IC maps as described in the paper by Smith 2009 PNAS (Correspondence of the brain's ...Figure 1) instead of calculating each pair for each IC map.
For the second question, I would like to confirm that AC is located at (0,0,-4) in mm space not at (0,0,0).
For the third question, in the paper, IC maps were overlaid onto the structural image of size 1x1x1.5mm. I am wondering if any oversampling is done to the given data(2x2x2 mm) to result in 1x1x1.5 mm.
Also, what would be a standard value for the threshold for the alternative hypothesis test? In MELODIC practical, an example of processing a resting state fMRI dataset sets p > 0.99. Isn't is too conservative?
I really appreciate any commends and thoughts on these questions.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Namgyun Lee
