Subject: Gender and Education Conference CALL FOR PAPERS ‘Compelling Diversities, Educational Intersections: Policy, Practice, Parity’
Dear All,
Can you all please keep circulating this to your different lists until the 12th Nov.deadline: http://www.genderandeducation.com/issues/conference2013_cfp/ It's likely that we'll extend the date after the deadline but can those on the abstract submission sub-committee check-in around the deadline about how many received etc. keeping in mind that we have capacity to accept 240 abstracts, according to my distributed schedule (I'm including capacity for us to present within that number).
The LSBU site now has the fees and there is a significant saving if registering before 30th Jan (meaning we need to convey decisions to potential delegates before this deadline). Please note there is a few missing details on the LSBU Enterprise website (meeting Alison Tues.): http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/php4-cgiwrap/ercevent/gea.php
I've reattached the new cfp - please circulate widely, it's going to take all our efforts/networks to get the numbers we need. Thanks!
A couple of post meeting follow-ups to be aware of: Shaminder has agreed to introduce Lisa Adkins and I've asked Elaine to bring the conference to a close (apols for making this public Elaine, I don't think I've heard back?).
Friday's conference was great but - and ! - I found myself doing some of the more mundane organising tasks like shouting/urging to re-enter rooms, drink coffee etc. etc. Nearer the time it would be good to get a sense of how to balance this between us, with Enterprise's help, as it can become quite exhausting so hopefully we can share crowd control duties...
Best, Yvette
