I dithered about punctuation in ISBNs but have just located this in the
BL workflow...
Record an Identifier for the Manifestation (2.15.1) An identifier for
the manifestation is a character string associated with a manifestation.
Identifiers include ISBNs, ISSNs. Take identifiers for the manifestation
from any source. Do not record terms of availability, but do not remove
if already present in the record. 4.2.1.3.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------
ISBNRecord in the 020 $a an International Standard Book Number (ISBN)
that you find in the resource or in any other source (1.3, 2.15).
Record the ISBN in the 020 $a without hyphens and without "ISBN"
preceding the numerals:
020 ## $a077855466X
The order of ISBNs is not relevant to RDA. However, record 13 digit ISBN
first for original cataloguing, but don't change the order on derived
records.
