I took the earlier volumes to be just other resources in the same
series, but unfortunately there is no series title to provide linkage.
I don't think that a MARC record offers any good place to put this
information. A more flexible format might; but for most series there
would just be too many other titles to be worth the work. And (for
consistency) what about future titles?
On reflection I should have included 'UK edition', both because of the
RDA rule and because it provides identification and probably ties in
with the ISBN.
Best wishes,
Bernadette

Thanks Celine
That's a helpful point. It did take me quite a while to do the e-forum
records, and I'd not stopped to think particularly about the
practicalities of extra work back in the 'real world' of cataloguing.
Like you, I'd not have added a 700 name-title entry for these in current
cataloguing.

I didn't include them, largely because the information on the item
wasn't quite detailed enough and I didn't chase that down. I would have
thought if it were worth providing at all, then the most useful way to
provide it is in an access point or something that can actually link
people to the other item (eg what we currently give as 700 name-titles)?
But then I wouldn't add those in this kind of case now and so am
reluctant to start adding them in RDA because of all the extra work (it
would affect quite a high proportion of our material I think).
