At the 'Spiritual Care and Health' conference in Glasgow earlier this year, George Fitchett spoke about what he saw as the need for chaplains to write up and publish case studies. His argument was that such a body of case studies could provide both an important teaching resource, demonstrating what chaplains actually do that makes a difference in patient care, and create a foundation for research, detailing specific, experienced-based interventions that could then be investigated further.
The attached 'Call for Papers' is an invitation to experienced chaplains to contribute to a collection of case studies that we expect will be published by a respected publisher with an international reputation in health and social care publishing.
Please read the call and consider submitting a proposal. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss the project or your ideas for a case.
The closing date for submission will be Monday 28 January, 2013.
