Colleagues, I only like to send information with generalisable lessons to
the ethnic health list. As most members of the list know diabetes and
cardiovascular diseases have been well studied by ethnic group, but this is
not true for cancer. As such, I believe this paper fill a gap. Even more
importantly, it provides new methods and approaches for the analysis of data
by ethnic group (rather than country of birth), and shows a systematic
approach to looking for confounding variables (and here not finding ones
that are valid across the ethnic groups). This linkage study is now in phase
3, and hopefully will be going to phase 4 (grant applied for). It is
producing a series of papers, some of which are referenced in this paper. I
would be glad to have your feedback.
It has already been reported on the BBC website:

This paper is open access and I would encourage colleagues to disseminate it
widely.
