I would sooner watch Leni Riefenstahls footage of the Berlin Olympics, it is
all coinage from the same mint. The Paralympics apart from it's current part
of the Governments propaganda programme to dis disabled people, is a medical
model categorisation gone wild, and worse far than that, for all it purports
to be, still part of an old superiority agenda, measuring one kind of
socially acceptable achievement against another. It is Upharsination and
nothing less, weighing us all in the balance and finding us wanting if we do
not conform to an acceptable public face of impairment.
