NHS Health Scotland and EDPHiS (Environmental Determinants of Public Health in Scotland) Project, on behalf of Good Places Better Health, Scottish Government’s strategy of health and the environment, would like to invite you to a 2-day conference,

“Science and Policy for Change: Children, Place and Health in Scotland”, on the 27 and 28 November 2012.

This 2-day Conference will share the knowledge gained from gathering, assessing and integrating different kinds of evidence on children, place and health and collating it to inform the development of policy. There will be an opportunity to debate the challenges involved in integrating different kinds of evidence and in balancing national and local solutions to creating Good Places. Michael Matheson MSP, the Minister for Public Health in the Scottish Government, will be presenting.

This free event is a joint initiative of NHS Health Scotland and the EDPHiS who have been working together, and with other partners, to gather and collate evidence for the Good Places Better Health prototype.

You can attend just the one day or both days if you prefer because the two days will complement one another, but the Conference has also been designed so that each day is self-contained.

Please find attached a flyer and programme for this Conference. For further information on Good Places Better Health, please go to http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Health/Healthy-Living/Good-Places-Better-Health

If you would like to register for this Conference please follow the link, www.gpbh2012.eventbrite.co.uk<http://www.gpbh2012.eventbrite.co.uk/>

Apologies for any cross posting.

Kind Regards

The Good Places Better Health Team
