Subject: Support: The CI/Drum Beat Associates programme
To: The Drum Beat Network
From: Victoria Martin - Administrator - The Communication Initiative
Greetings Bruce
Many best wishes. The Communication Initiative (The CI) is honoured to support
your development efforts on your priority issues. More than 90,000 people have
joined the network from over 200 countries and territories. We have edited and
shared, for your access and use to support and inform your work, over 36,000
knowledge summaries submitted from the network. Over the past 12 months, there
have been 1 million-plus user sessions on the platform. Also over that period,
the platform was completely upgraded.
As Administrator, I oversee the finances. The bulk of the funding comes from our
excellent partnership group of 26 agencies (see http://www.comminit.com/content/communication-initiative-partners).
If you are a staff person within one of those agencies, please accept our
thanks.
If you are not working within one of the Partners agencies and you find added
value for your work from the social networking and knowledge sharing activities
of The CI, we encourage you to consider a low-level financial contribution for
this work through our Associates programme.
Recent agencies that have contributed through the Associates programme include:
* IDRC Canada - the Canadian International Development Research Center
http://www.idrc.ca/
* FES Media - the media project of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung
http://fesmedia.org/
* Breeze FM - Lifting the spirit of the People - Eastern Zambia

* Health Communication Resources (HCR) - based in Australia

* Equal Access International (EA) - works in the developing world
http://www.equalaccess.org/
* The Healthy Aboriginal Network - creates comic books on health and social
issues for youth

* University Departments - OECD countries: US$2,000.00

non-governmental organisations (NGOs): US$2,500.00

To register, please visit: http://www.comminit.com/ci_associates/register But
to make things simple, please do just contact me at [log in to unmask] and I
would be most happy to discuss the options and possibilities with you.
In November, The CIs flagship publication, The Drum Beat, will be highlighting
the most recent additions to The CI Associates family. This publication is sent
out to approximately 48,000 individuals and organisations around the world. We
would love to include your information so as to share your work with other
like-minded people in the communication for development community!
Bruce - many thanks for your engagement and support as we seek to sustain and
grow The CI in response to increased demand and engagement.
With many best wishes and much support for your very important work.
