Health Services Researcher/Epidemiologist

Applications are invited for the full-time post of Health Services Researcher/Epidemiologist. This post is funded by the Department of Health until 31 March 2014 and is based in the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford.
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated health services researcher or epidemiologist to join a successful research unit with a strong track record of research that influences clinical practice. You will be responsible for designing, conducting and delivering studies involving the analysis of complex observational/epidemiological datasets, initially focusing on projects involving secondary analysis of the Birthplace national prospective cohort study data. You will need to enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced research environment, and have an interest in research that seeks to contribute to improving the care provided to women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
We are looking for someone with a postgraduate degree in epidemiology, statistics or a related subject with strong analytic skills, a sound knowledge of statistical methods and preferably with some practical research experience in a relevant area.
