There is an opening for a position as statistician at the Department of
Human Nutrition, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Department of Human Nutrition is an extremely dynamic research
environment that is involved in a number of large national and
international projects within a wide range of areas related to human
nutrition (e.g., bioactive foods, clinical nutrition, malnutrition,
obesity, paediatric nutrition). One example is the ongoing OPUS project
(http://www.foodoflife.dk/Opus/English.aspx) focusing on the New Nordic
Diet. Statistical analysis is a key ingredient in much of the research
at the department (e.g., ANCOVA and mixed models for cross-over or
parallel-arm studies).
Candidates are expected to have a background in statistics,
engineering, or a related field and to be interested in statistical
modelling and analysis of biological data. It is an advantage to be
proficient in R, SAS, and/or Stata.
The position is time-limited for a period of 6 months. However, it may
be possible for the successful candidate to continue after 6 month in a
PhD project specializing on statistical methodology in human nutrition.
The PhD study would consist a blend of learning specific statistical
methodology and developing novel techniques tailored for applications in
human nutrition. The PhD study would also provide opportunities for
participating in interdisciplinary projects, seminars, exchange
programmes etc.
