The post is as Principal Investigator (PI) of the National Child Development Study (NCDS), the 1958 British birth cohort - one of the three world-renowned birth cohorts studies managed by the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS), which is part of the Department.
Jane Elliott, the Director of CLS and current PI of NCDS, is passing the baton on the leadership of the study as she will be heading up the new ESRC/MRC Cohort Resources Facility, CLOSER, that we are leading.
The successful candidate will also be a full professor in the Department.
It's a really exciting opportunity to lead a long-running and very successful multi-disciplinary research resource as the study members move towards their 60s. (The age 60 sweep is expected to be a face-to-face interview with core funding from the ESRC.)
