I read the piece with... interest.

Male ejaculation is a matter of interest, of course. Something to be
pursued without delay; but something one might wish then to delay.

No, perhaps not.

I became interested in the Rodrigo story. I am not a great reader of
Burgess and didn't know it; or have forgotten. I forget so much. I did a
bit of web-digging and all the references I found said he had been given
the full works, which may be technically true, but nothing about spoiling
the fun by dying straight off and so not really being there when they did
it to him.

And my thoughts went all over the place. Phoning accounts departments and
saying I do not owe you a million pounds and them saying Yes you do
because that's what it says on my screen.

It says here he was hanged drawn and quartered.

And I thought of the London mob decked out in Olympic finery at Stratford
and how quickly they could be turned into that mob jeering at the
Portuguese - they'd rush back down the road from Old Ford

blah blah

I also thought that what you had done was interesting, potentially very
interesting; but that it could be even better maybe for more stand points
and more points of view

I wondered should I say that. Would you welcome that? When I started work
this morning I googled the name, much the way a cat washes its arse when
it doesn't know what to do

and I could resist it; but I didn't want to; it didn't till you responded
occur to me that I was offering another point of view

Sodomite, though. Don't often hear that word outside Gomorrah. Last time
was the beginning of a Burgess book.
