** with apologies for cross-posting**
Places are filling up for the "Beyond the library: student transition and success" NoWAL Conference, taking place on Tuesday 4th September; and due to the holiday period, we are extending the bookings deadline to Tuesday 28th August.
We hope you will join us in Carlisle, and if travelling up the night before, take part in our pre-conference meet and greet events (further information is available at this link: http://www.nowal.ac.uk/training_and_development.php).
We are especially welcoming first time or novice conference goers; and at a conference fee of £40.00, we hope you'll agree that the conference represents excellent value for money.

Aaron Porter - H.E. Consultant and former NUS President; and Pam Houghton - Head of the Learning Development Unit, University of Central Lancashire
Our conference contributors come from a diverse range of institutions, and will be covering topics of central relevance to the strategic and operational role of the academic library. In addition to our two influential keynote speakers, fifteen parallel sessions and seven poster presentations will cover transition points across the entire student journey, from pre-entry and induction, to the course itself and into employment, so there is something for everyone.
Come and network with colleagues from across the sector and find out about partnerships inside and outside the library, information literacy initiatives delivered collaboratively, student union and student led design, international work and technology projects and much more. Poster presentations will highlight other innovations.
For further information, including the conference programme, session and poster abstracts, directions and accommodation options, please visit the NoWAL website: http://www.nowal.ac.uk/training_and_development.php
