An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen within the National Library of Scotland to recruit a Manager who will have responsibility for the delivery of a new Special Collections Reading Room service. Based in our George IV Bridge Building in Edinburgh, the successful candidate will operate within the wider Reading Rooms Services team and will have responsibility for the ongoing operational and people management activities aligned to the service.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead and manage staff in a public facing environment, and will provide ongoing support and coaching to ensure that exceptional customer service is maintained at all times. It is also essential that the Special Collections Reading Room Manager has a good understanding of the needs associated with the users of special collections, such as Rare Books and Manuscripts.
