The Department of Chemistry at the University of Helsinki is searching for
ONE POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER AND ONE GRADUATE STUDENT IN COMPUTATIONAL CHEMISTRY
for about four-years starting from October the 1st 2012 at the Kumpula Campus of the University of Helsinki. The research will be directed by Professor Lauri Halonen. The objective is to break new grounds by approaches that combine innovative computational and experimental methods.
The successful candidates are expected to carry out computational/theoretical work on at least one of the following topics: Spectroscopy and structures of complexes of atmospheric interest; Spectroscopy on surfaces; Atmospheric chemistry, especially processes on water complexes and ice particles; Molecular and atomic interactions.
The molecular spectroscopy and computational chemistry research group lead by Professor Halonen includes about 15 scientists, and has excellent computational and experimental facilities.
The salaries of successful candidates will be based on the university salary system, and will depend on personal skills and experience.
