Hi Al
Sorry to come late to this discussion due to annual leave but I wanted to see if others have the same issues as we do.
I do agree with much that has been said about the format vs access naming convention and ideas.
I cannot see that the Preview button adds anything to the user experience and I can foresee our users asking where the full text is if a "quick preview" is available for the resource.
It is not offering the "quick link" button to online articles which far outnumber e-books in our lists.
For us another large drawback is that we offer .pdf's of scanned chapters for every reading where this is available, this new button is obviously not picking up on this web link which is part of the media type chapter "is part of a book" or article "is part of a journal".
To be frank this means that for the user there are just a few odd "quick link" and "preview" buttons in the list that in no way reflects what is actually available full text quickly.
What would be far more viable for us would be the ability to hide the second information page if we wish, so a click on the original title link gives direct access to the resource without the need for a second click.
Is there the ability to switch off these buttons if we do not want them ?
Sue
