3rd International Conference on Sign Linguistics and Deaf Education in Asia
A 4-day conference “3rd International Conference on Sign Linguistics and Deaf Education in Asia” will be held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) from 30 January to 2 February 2013. The conference is organized by The Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies to promote research on Sign Linguistics and Deaf Education in Asia. The conference is sponsored by The Nippon Foundation in Japan.
We are very honored to have Prof. Gaurav Mathur (Gallaudet University) and Prof. Harry Knoors (Royal Dutch Kentalis/Radboud University Nijmegen) to be the keynote speakers for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Education respectively. We invite submissions involving ongoing research projects on sign language grammar, sign language acquisition, literacy development of Deaf children, sign bilingualism and Deaf training. Abstracts need to be written in English with a maximum of 400 words (excluding references). The abstract should contain a clear focus of analysis, methodology and a summary of the empirical findings. The deadline for submission is 31 Aug 2012.
